(Beijing, September 22) After winning the women's event of the 2007 International Moutain Bike Invitational Competition today with a time of 1:45:54, or 1min and 24secs faster than the runner-up, China's Liu Ying seemed exhausted and all she said was "this course was too difficult."

Liu Ying, the 22-year-old world No. 4 and winner at last week's World Cup series, was not so excited after her victory. "Happy" and "tired" were the only two words she used to describe her feeling after the win.

Talking about this future Olympic course, Liu said, "During the race the riders must never slacken his/her efforts to keep the pace." Commenting on the performance of her German rival Sabine Spitz who ranks second in the world, Liu said as a young rider she kept telling herself to ride on and on without letup, as she knew many riders had come not to gain good results but to get a feeling competing on the new course.

Liu's teammate on the national team Wang Jingjing finished fifth while another teammate Ren Chengyuan, world No. 3, placed 10th. "They are all very good riders," Liu said. "China has two berths for next year's Olympic Games. Though I won today, I might not be able to compete in the Olympics. All of us have a chance to represent China in the Games, but nothing is certain right now."
