(Beijing, September 22)In the women's race of the "Good Luck Beijing" 2007 International Mountain Bike Invitational Competition which opened at the Laoshan Mountain Bike Course this morning, China's Liu Ying claimed the title with a time of 1:45:54, followed by Sabine Spitz of Germany and Lene Byberg of Norway with 1:47:18 and 1:47:28 respectively.

Liu's teammates Wang Jingjing and Ren Chengyuan finished fifth and 10th respectively.

The host team gave an excellent performance today. Liu Ying led in the race throughout the time, while her teammate Wang Jingjing followed suit and then exchanged positions with her German and Norwegian opponents until the fifth lap, which in a way helped upset her opponents' pace and send Liu Ying all the way home first.

After the race, the top three riders celebrated their victory with champagne on the victor's podium with an ovation from all the spectators present.
